FAQ

Do my PDFs ever leave my computer?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser using pdf-lib and PDF.js — no upload, no server, no third-party API.
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
No. This tool creates a visual appearance overlay only — it embeds your signature as an image on the page with no cryptographic certificate or audit trail. For legally binding e-signatures, use a dedicated service like DocuSign, Adobe Sign, or equivalent.
How are the signature coordinates converted to PDF space?
The PDF page is rendered to a canvas at a computed scale (pixels per point). Your overlay position and size in canvas pixels are divided by that scale to get PDF points. The Y-axis is also flipped because PDF coordinates start at the bottom-left corner, while canvas coordinates start at the top-left.
Why might my typed signature look different in the PDF than in the preview?
The preview uses your OS's system font for the chosen CSS family (e.g. 'cursive'). The PDF embeds the rendering as a flat PNG image, so what you see in the preview is exactly what goes into the PDF — but the font itself depends on what your OS has installed.
Can I sign multiple pages?
Each download stamps the signature onto one chosen page. To sign additional pages, download the signed PDF, drop it back in, and repeat the process.
